About Us

Modesto Flight Center was established in 1983 by partners Sandy and Dave Mesenhimer and Larry and Pat Askew. It was based on the premise that they start a flight school which allowed for a place that customers are treated like friends and family. That they are given a place to learn, chat, share friendships, and of course, enjoy good food served every Saturday. It’s being passionate about flying, educating, and meeting new friends that makes Modesto Flight Center stand out from the rest. And those values will continue with the new ownership under Richard Corbett.

Modesto Flight Center offers affordable flight training and aircraft rental for pilots of all experience levels, from student pilot through ATP.  We also offer a pilot shop, FAA computerized testing, and an FAA-approved flight simulator, aircraft maintenance and inspection, and a variety of other services.

Modesto Flight Center’s mission is to deliver exceptional value to aircraft owners, pilots, and students. We set high standards for ourselves, and strive to constantly exceed these standards. We focus on the current and future needs of our customers through adding new products and services to keep up with the dynamic nature of aviation.
